Green Report Gala is a voice that makes heard the need for actions with environmental impact and rewards the most performing sustainability projects. On January 18, the corporate and administrative projects implemented locally and analyzed by the jury members for two months, will be awarded at a festive dinner, which brings to the forefront the importance of sustainable actions.

More than 80 projects implemented by companies, public institutions, authorities or NGOs were entered in the Green Report competition and were analyzed by the jury members taking into account performance indices, scalability and generated impact. Each member of the jury analyzed and scored each project individually, and the projects with the highest scores will be announced on Wednesday, January 18.

In a global context where sustainability means more than a strategic approach to resources and becomes a pressing need in any business model that otherwise risks becoming marginal, the registered projects are benchmarks for the local business environment.
“Sustainability in business is not only a matter of resource efficiency, which transforms businesses into eco-friendly enterprises, nor is it a tool that works magic between demystifying and depoliticizing the business environment. Sustainability is a real pillar of investments with an emphasis on innovation, profitable in the long term, a pillar born from an ethical motivation, but capable of making the transition to a circular economy. I think that never before has a moral attitude of an entrepreneur towards the environment generated more profit”, Ramona Jurubiță, Country Manager Partner KPMG and member of the Green Report Gala jury, said.

Beyond the impact it generates on the environment, sustainability policies are creators of business models that in the long term generate more profit. The pandemic and the war have led to a faster maturation of the business environment and we see accelerated mobilization in multiple areas: legislation, consumer pressure, financiers, etc.

“Recently, however, we see more and more Romanian entrepreneurial businesses concerned with the transition to a sustainable business model, which enter into partnerships with other local actors – universities or local authorities, which access green financing and present their efforts in a transparently through sustainability reports. The projects are more numerous and diverse, the quality increases because the demands are also higher and we hope that in the years to come, the Gala Green Report will remain a reference for rewarding these efforts”, Ramona Jurubiță also said.

Jury members: Ramona Jurubiță – Country Managing Partner, KPMG; Andreea Mitiriță – Fiscal Consultancy Partner, PwC; Marius Brînzea – Strategy Director, Recycling; Laura Ciobanu – Senior Manager Climate Change and Sustainability, EY Romania; Sorin Elisei – Director, Leader of sustainability and energy practices, Deloitte Romania; Florin Stoican, President of the Kogayon and Văcărești National Park Associations.
