“For us, sustainability becomes a business culture. We try to integrate sustainability in every job, in every business process, in every business model we have. We are in a permanent transformation to improve our results. I think that sustainability must be a component that brings even more profitability. Regardless of the value of the investments, they will end up being profitable as long as sustainability is integrated,” Corina Dospinoiu, Head of CSR, Auchan Retail Romania said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability-Today.

“Sustainability must be a long-term vision for any company; we need this vision to become as profitable and sustainable as possible in the long term.

We introduced sustainability KPIs for the CEO and board members a few years ago. Today, top management has sustainability KPIs. Starting next year, we have even bigger plans in this direction.

A central element that defines the fact that sustainability is integrated in our culture is that we got a surprisingly high score at the Top Employer certification. It was an extremely pleasant surprise, and this proves our commitment at the company level.

There is still a lot of work to do, and it is not a transformation that we as a company have to do, but it is a transformation that we have to do at the industry level and at the consumer level.”
