    GreenGroup, a European leader in the circular economy with a regional presence in Romania, Slovakia and Lithuania, chooses SAP solution to modernize the group’s operational management infrastructure. The ongoing project is the first step in a larger implementation that will include the rest of the group’s companies, with SAP becoming the central platform for GreenGroup’s digitalization.

    “Implementing SAP S/4HANA as a common platform for the group companies is a key component of our digital transformation strategy. It supports our multi-departmental efforts to align and improve our internal processes, positively impacting our relationships with our partners, employees and shareholders,” said Marius Ghica, GreenGroup CFO.

    GreenGroup is a European leader in the circular economy with 22 years of experience in the field. With investments of over €200 million and a consolidated turnover of €180 million by 2023, GreenGroup offers a full spectrum of services, from waste collection to recycling and transforming waste into new and valuable materials for new industries. The companies also offer environmental, OIREP and waste management services.

    “The current phase is only the beginning of an extensive group-wide implementation and we are convinced that this transformation will bring significant improvements in operational efficiency,” added Ioana Bucin, GreenGroup Transformation Manager and project manager for the SAP implementation.

    The implementation will last approximately one year and will be carried out by Advanced Business Software, an SAP Romania partner for over 9 years.

    „Embracing the future, and the various challenges it may bring, we are delighted to be pioneering the implementation of an SAP solution at GreenGroup. With the expertise and dedication of the Advanced Business Software team, we aim to deliver a transformative solution that will drive the organization’s success and growth, while helping the group extract maximum value from its investment in SAP technology and products,” said Mihai Oroș, General Manager Advanced Business Software.

    “GreenGroup has an inspiring mission, based on respect for the environment, which is embodied in a series of meaningful activities that make a real impact. We are pleased that the organization has chosen an SAP solution to support this mission and that through the experience and knowledge of our partners at Advanced Business Software, the group will turn its vision for digitization into reality,” said Diana David, Managing Director SAP Romania.

    The implementation of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition solution will initially target three group companies:

    GreenTech, the largest PET plastic recycler in Europe and a major producer of flakes, synthetic polyester fiber, PET tape and r-PET granules;

    GreenWEEE, one of the group’s main pillars in Central and South-Eastern Europe, a recycler of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), cables, batteries and components from the automotive industry;

    GreenGlass, one of the most modern waste glass recycling plants in Romania and South East Europe.

    In the implementation, GreenGroup has adopted the SAP Activate methodology, aiming to take as much as possible the standard and best-practice processes proposed by SAP in the solution. Over 50 experts from the three companies represent the core internal team of the project and are actively contributing to the definition and alignment of processes, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
