{"id":5379,"date":"2026-07-21T06:59:48","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T06:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sustainability-today.ro\/?p=5379"},"modified":"2026-07-21T06:59:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T06:59:55","slug":"ecotic-and-uzpr-launch-the-third-edition-of-the-journalism-for-a-clean-environment-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sustainability-today.ro\/index.php\/2026\/07\/21\/ecotic-and-uzpr-launch-the-third-edition-of-the-journalism-for-a-clean-environment-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"ECOTIC and UZPR launch the third edition of the &#8220;Journalism for a Clean Environment&#8221; competition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ECOTIC and the Union of Professional Journalists of Romania (UZPR) are launching the third edition of the <strong>&#8220;Journalism for a Clean Environment&#8221;<\/strong> competition, an initiative aimed at supporting and advancing environmental journalism in Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition is open to journalists, reporters, vloggers, and bloggers who produce media content on environmental topics, regardless of the communication channel they use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants may submit entries covering one or more of the following themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Climate change and biodiversity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental education in the school system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Circular Economy and its impact on the economy and society<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waste management and recycling (including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment \u2013 WEEE, and Waste Portable Batteries and Accumulators \u2013 WPBA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of renewable energy and reducing the carbon footprint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible submissions include articles, photo essays, blog posts, vlogs, video reports, podcasts, and radio or television programmes. Both newly created and previously published materials addressing the listed topics are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entries will be evaluated by a jury comprising representatives of the <strong>Romanian Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests<\/strong>, ECOTIC, UZPR, and InfoCons. The jury will select the most outstanding media materials based on their quality and relevance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winners will receive <strong>Altex gift cards<\/strong>, with the prize value increasing according to the ranking achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>First Prize<\/strong> winner will receive the award during the <strong>Clean Environment Awards Gala 2026<\/strong>, Romania&#8217;s flagship event dedicated to recognising excellence in environmental protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are launching a new edition of the national <em>Journalism for a Clean Environment<\/em> competition with the aim of encouraging the development of journalists specialised in environmental issues in Romania.
