In 2022, Kaufland reduced its carbon footprint by 1,450 tons, 3.5 percent more than the value recorded in 2021. At the same time, the retailer avoided the production of 116,000 kg of operational waste, according to a company statement.

Kaufland has a partnership with CHEP, which offers for rent blue pallets intended for the transport of products, in the pooling system built according to the principles of the circular economy. The use of CHEP blue pallets instead of classic white pallets translates into an optimization of resource consumption and a reduction in the degree of pollution and the amount of waste.

Kaufland constantly invests in actions to protect the environment and is committed to supporting and contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) launched by the United Nations (UN), which include Earth Life, Climate Action and Responsible Consumption and Production.
