600 students from the “Matei Basarab” National Informatics College (CNI) in Ramnicu Valcea received access to a digital education at the start of the new school year. With the support of CEZ, the school’s two modern language laboratories were equipped with 2 packages consisting of interactive whiteboard, video projector and interactive Pen Tray, 2 laptops and 2 portable speakers.
“Digital Spaces for Multilingualism” is an initiative developed within the “Generators of Good” competition, through which CEZ employees propose impactful solutions for a better society. Supporting education is thus how we build a sustainable future for the community we belong to.
In Valcea county, the project aimed to reinvent the learning spaces within the CNI “Matei Basarab”, to increase motivation and creativity among enrolled students. The school’s two modern language laboratories each received a digital system composed of an interactive whiteboard, video projector, interactive Pen Tray, laptop, and speakers.
In the 2022-2023 school year, 600 students and 14 teachers will use the workspaces, and in the long term, more than 1000 students and teachers will benefit from these digitized laboratories.
The digitization and modernization of the two classrooms will also provide added value to the high school, through the development of programs to promote foreign language learning, at a national or international level.

With this investment, we ensure that the lack of technology will no longer be an obstacle to the development of young people, starting this school year, and help define a new reality in education,” said Ondrej Safar, CEO of CEZ Romania.
The internal project “Generators of Good” encourages CEZ Group employees in Romania to propose and get involved in social responsibility projects, for the benefit of local communities in the Group’s area of activity (Argeș, Constanța, Caraș-Severin, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinți counties , Olt, Teleorman and Valcea).
