The estimated number of economic operators that should be found in the RetuRo platform is 80,000, and the 55,000 who signed up by the deadline is a fantastic thing, said Gemma Webb, CEO of RetuRO, in a conference organized by Green Report.

“Approximately 80,000 economic operators should register in the ReturRO platform, which manages the Guarantee-Return System. The 55,000 retailers who registered until February 28 in the system represent a fantastic number. We had six weeks at our disposal to build an information and education campaign… that’s why I say 55,000 is a fantastic number. We will continue to inform people and economic operators can still register. So far, we are talking about 27,000 economic operators who have completed all stages of registration in RetuRO. Also, during March, we will continue the communication campaign in the mass media and I want to thank everyone who has supported us so far,” said Webb.

According to recent data from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests (MMAP), over 55,000 economic operators have activated their user accounts in the online platform of the administrator of the Guarantee-Return System (SGR), until February 28, of which 23,145 have completed registration.

The deadline by which producers, importers and traders of products subject to SGR had the obligation to register in the dedicated platform (www.returosgr.ro) expired on February 28, 2023. Starting from March 1, 2023, the National Environmental Guard (GNM) started a thematic control, at the national level, to check how the economic agents complied with this legal obligation.
