ING Bank Romania is launching a new edition of the “Adopt a Project” grants program, dedicated this year to educational institutions. Between October 9-30, they can register projects and initiatives that contribute to reducing the negative impact on the environment and creating sustainable spaces for the students’ activities.

The total amount of funds allocated is 315,000 euros and the maximum funding offered to each winning project is 50,000 euros. The winners will be announced on November 27, following a selection and judging process in which bank employees are involved.

Kindergartens, schools, and high schools in the country are invited, together with their NGO partners, to apply for funding to implement their sustainability projects. These can concern the creation of green spaces and community gardens, the running of recycling actions or educational activities during the Green Week, as well as other creative ideas that aim to protect the environment.

“Schools are the first space where young people have the opportunity to experience the spirit of community, to understand the importance of protecting the common interest and space. That is precisely why we want to contribute to the adaptation of schools to a place of learning and meeting, which brings communities together and helps to adapt to a healthier way of life. “Adopt a Project” responds to these needs, being a program with tradition, supported by colleagues from ING Bank, with the aim of making the transition to a more sustainable world easier, and future generations better prepared to support it” – Mihaela Ioniță, Director of Human Resources at ING Bank Romania.

“Adopt a Project” was initiated by ING Bank Romania in 2013 and aims to support non-profit organizations, on the one hand, and the involvement of employees in social causes, on the other. Thus, the bank has so far supported 77 projects, with a total funding of over 1.2 million euros, exclusively based on the support, judging, and voting of its team.
