Flip, the Romanian start-up that encourages circular economy by refurbishing phones and tablets, announces the launch of the insurance service for devices sold on Flip.ro.

The device insurance service is available both for consumers who purchase from Flip.ro, and for companies that use the solutions offered by Flip Business to purchase phones for employees.

The insurance can be purchased by buyers in Romania, only together with the device, at the time of placing the order, and can only be paid in the same payment method as that used to buy the device (eg: online payment by bank card, payment in installments or through invoice etc.).

Flip offers two types of insurance policies: Flip CASCO and Flip CASCO+. Device insurance at Flip includes international coverage and provides full protection against accidental damage, even out of warranty, should the device be repaired or replaced. The insurances are valid during trips around the world, within 60 days of travel. In addition, Flip CASCO+ also insures against theft.

Insurance provides a safety net for buyers, who no longer have to purchase a new device when the one they own is damaged or invest large sums in repairs, especially if the device is out of warranty. Devices refurbished by Flip specialists to the highest standards, in our own service, get a second chance, their lifespan being extended and at the same time working 100% in optimal parameters, like new ones in stores. All phones sold by Flip have a 2-year warranty and by introducing the insurance service, we contribute even more to reducing the phenomenon of e-waste, offering an even longer lifespan of the devices, and more environmentally friendly solutions to customers, but also financial protection”, says Nicolae Trofin, Chief Sales – Business Partnerships at Flip.

Flip CASCO and Flip CASCO+ insurance policies can be bought for a period of 12 or 24 months, only with the purchase of the device to be insured. The price of the insurance policy is calculated according to the price of the phone. In the case of Flip CASCO, the price of the policy starts from 99.9 lei for 12 months, respectively 179.9 lei for 24 months. In the case of Flip CASCO+, prices start from 124.9 lei for 12-month insurance, and from 224.9 lei for 24 months.

The partner for the Flip CASCO and Flip CASCO+ policies is Assurant Europe Insurance N.V.
