    Tenaris Silcotub starts 96.9 million RON photovoltaic project in Calarasi

    Tenaris Silcotub announces today that it has started a project to produce energy from renewable solar sources with a nominal power of 19.8 MW, respectively 21.216 MWp in Calarasi, worth 96.9 million RON including VAT, financed by PNRR. From the total investment, the maximum non-refundable amount is 29 million RON without VAT, and the own contribution amounts to 67.8 million RON. The project implementation period is 12 months, between December 2023 and December 2024.

    The general objective of the project is the production of energy from renewable solar sources, by installing new capacities to produce energy from renewable sources (capacity with a nominal power of 19.8 MW, respectively 21.216 MWp).

    Silcotub is the most important Romanian manufacturer of seamless pipes of small diameters and, since 2004, is part of the Tenaris group – world leader in the production and supply of tubular products and related services for the energy industry, the automotive industry, the oil and gas sector and other industrial applications since 2004.

    The company is present in 9 cities in Romania and operates fully integrated production units, from the collection and preparation of scrap metal in Popești-Leordeni, Brasov and Iernut, to the processing of steel in Calarasi and the production of tubular products with high added value in Zalau.
