“We have reached a moment when we no longer discuss exclusively about recycling. We see that there is concern from the private sector and the government for the circular economy. We have a circular business model for over 80 years. Few people know that the CHEP business was a state initiative, it was a business started by Australia out of a need to reuse certain logistic platforms left over after the World War II,” Gabriel Ivan, General Manager CHEP said during Circular Economy Conference organized by Sustainability Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“This business has developed a lot, it is reinventing itself, we have always been pioneers in the circular economy area, and we are happy to see that the private sector and the authorities understand that we must accelerate efforts in the circular economy area.
We now focus on the regeneration area and continue to help other companies to integrate the sustainability part in their supply chain area. Through our business model, we help our partners become more efficient and sustainable.
We only use 100% sustainable materials, we reduce CO2 emissions in any supply chain through our way of doing things, we reduce resource consumption by 50-70% compared to the linear system.
Sustainability is not cheap, but if you implement it properly you have many benefits.”
