“Society has enormous social consumption. Romania loses money when it throws away the usefulness of the products. Everything is reused. If the economic development model will be the circular one, we will solve many problems, we will be able to prevent crises such as the crisis of raw materials or we will be able to fight poverty,” Constantin Damov, president of GreenGroup said during a conference organized by the Circular Economy Coalition (CERC).

“The circular economy can even be an economy of peace, in the context where there are wars for certain resources.

The circular economy is not perfect, but it will significantly reduce the consumption of raw materials. For 3 years we have had a standard for the repair to recycle electrical and electronic equipment.

Our studies show that 5-10 percent of electronic equipment that comes as waste can either be recycled or sold for components.”
