“The circular economy is our object of activity because we refurbish phones and extend their life. It is important that we have a commitment from public institutions regarding the circular economy. Our company fits very well into the category of sustainable businesses, which are necessary in such an economic model. We promote reuse and this is the core business for Flip. A phone bought through the buyback system, either from individuals or from companies, is refurbished and put back on the market by Flip,” Nicolae Trofin, Chief Sales Officer, Business Partnerships, Flip Romania said during Circular Economy Conference organized by Sustainability Today.

“Besides reuse, repair is also very important in the recycling process. The repair part is provided by over 80 specialists from several departments. The phone goes through a complex repair process and at the end it is like a new phone. The Flip activity has a very large component of innovation and technology.

In 2023, we want to increase consumer confidence in the circular economy. We want our customers to understand that we can put products on the market that are as good as new. The number of companies using our phones has started to grow rapidly. We collaborate with companies such as OMV Petrom or Edenred. We will soon announce other partnerships with different companies.”
