“Continental has a very ambitious strategy regarding sustainability, which involves all aspects, starting from energy and ending with waste. In 2050, we want to have zero CO2 emissions.

We aim for the electronic products we design and develop to have as low a carbon footprint as possible. We are currently working on defining several criteria regarding new ways of packaging and delivering products,” Cristian Neculita, Facility Manager, Continental Automotive Romania said during Waste Management Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability Today.

“Extraordinary changes will take place both at the administrative level and in production, from the perspective of reducing the CO2 footprint.

We want to help educate the market. Our employees are involved in selective waste collection projects, both in offices and in production areas, and we want to start from within our organization with campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability for society and the environment.

One of the biggest challenges in waste management comes from the relationship with our partners. There are wastes that we cannot recycle, such as different packaging that we cannot recycle. It is very difficult to start discussions in this regard after signing some contracts.”
