The Holcim Technical School trains the second generation of construction technicians. 18 young high school graduates, from the total number of registered and examined candidates, were selected to attend the Holcim Technical School in Alesd, Bihor County, an educational program dedicated to training a new generation of professionals.

Developed in partnership with the Alexandru Roman Technical College in Alesd, accredited and recognized by the Romanian Ministry of Labor and Education, the Holcim Technical School is a completely free tuition program, with a curriculum that includes both technical and practical workshops.

“The Holcim Technical School is one of Holcim’s most ambitious educational programs in Romania, with the help of which we contribute to the development of future generations of construction professionals. It is a project that evolves from year to year and through which we manage to instill in young people the passion for our industry, but also healthy values for a career start. We have attracted with us young people willing to grow, innovate and perform, with whom we are happy to build the future of Holcim in Romania,” says Mădălina Crăciunescu, Director of HR and Organization Holcim Romania.

Students will learn and develop over the next two years essential skills and competencies about the cement manufacturing process, mechanical, preventive, and electrical maintenance, standards and quality control, precast technology, as well as OSH and environment, and at the end of the program they will be employed in one of the locations of the Holcim Romania Group.

The practical modules will be carried out in various business divisions within the Holcim Romania Group, such as: cement, concrete, precast and aggregates.

In addition to the free tuition program, Holcim also provides students with accommodation, food, merit scholarships, transportation, personal protective equipment, and all study materials necessary for an optimal learning environment.
