Carrefour Romania and the InspirAction Association announce the launch of the fourth edition of the “Small Gestures for Big Practices” project. The project includes educational sessions focused on sustainability, complemented by practical recycling activities.

Between March 3 and April 13, 10 schools and kindergartens will participate in these interactive sessions, conducted with the support of volunteer teachers coordinated by the InspirAction Association, to encourage the adoption of environmentally responsible practices.

A key element of the project is the recycling competition between schools and kindergartens. The first 8 educational institutions that will have the best results, both in the number of SGR packaging recycled at Carrefour vending machines and in the number of votes received, will be awarded with photovoltaic panel systems.

These prizes will contribute to reducing the school’s carbon footprint and will allow the savings from lower electricity bills to be redirected to other educational initiatives.

Anyone who recycles SGR packaging at Carrefour vending machines can support their favorite school or kindergarten by following the steps described on www.inspiraction.ro/reciclare Here you can also follow the evolution of the ranking of the schools entered in the competition in real time.

Since its launch in December 2023, the “Small gestures for big practices” project has involved 9,700 students in sustainable education activities, facilitated the recycling of over 388,620 SGR packaging and awarded 32 schools and kindergartens with high-performance photovoltaic systems.

Alina Gamauf, member of the Executive Committee of Carrefour Romania, said: “Small gestures for big practices” is not just an initiative, but a catalyst for change, an example of the real impact of each step taken by students and educational institutions. By launching the fourth edition, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more responsible future, joining forces with students, parents and the community to promote education for sustainability and encourage recycling. ”

Simona Paraschiv, president of the InspirAction Association, added: “With each lesson on environmental protection and recycling that we facilitate for children, we are closer to fulfilling our dream: educating and empowering future generations to build a healthier, sustainable future.”
