“For the good functioning of activities in the circular economy chain, both the authorities and the citizens must participate actively. We represent the component that produces packaging and recycles plastic. For 10 years we have been implementing a link of this chain called the circular economy.
Speaking about waste management, the year 2023 is no better than 2022. We are waiting for legislative measures that will have a positive impact,” Cristinel Dobrota, Deputy General Manager, Romcarbon said during Waste Management Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability Today.
“I hope that the European regulation on packaging will be published as soon as possible. Any product must be manufactured to be recyclable. Then that product must be collected. There are several reasons why these packages do not all have a positive economic value. An example of packaging with a negative economic value, but which is necessary, is the cheese packaging, which increases the shelf life of the product.”
