PepsiCo, one of the leaders in the food and beverage industry, is expanding its sustainable transport fleet with the integration of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric truck, delivered by Daimler Truck & Bus Romania. The new vehicle will serve both of the company’s plants in Romania – the snack plant in Popești-Leordeni and the beverage plant in Dragomirești-Deal.

Fully electric, the eActros 600 can carry a gross vehicle weight of up to 40 tons and offers a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. Powered by three battery packs of 207 kWh each, delivering a total capacity of 621 kWh, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 meets the same durability standards as a conventional Actros long-haul heavy-duty truck, reaching up to 1.2 million kilometers over 10 years of operation.

“Sustainability lies at the heart of our business strategy, and reducing our carbon footprint is one of the key areas we continue to invest in. The integration of the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric truck into our fleet is yet another proof of this commitment and demonstrates that performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. At PepsiCo, we continue to invest in innovative technologies and actively contribute to the transition towards cleaner and more efficient transport, while maintaining the highest operational standards,” said Radu Berevoescu, General Manager, PepsiCo East Balkans.

“We are proud to continue the electrification of road transport in Romania together with strong partners such as PepsiCo. The fact that one of the leaders in the FMCG industry has chosen the eActros 600 confirms the trust in our electric mobility solutions and the model’s ability to meet customers’ efficiency and sustainability requirements,” said Valeriu Zaharia, CEO, Daimler Truck & Bus Romania.
