A total of 28 companies have completed the first edition of the COMPETITIV program, launched by Raiffeisen Bank Romania in partnership with PIVOT-C to help Romanian businesses integrate sustainability into their operations.
Running over a six-month period, the program brought together 65 companies with combined revenues of €9 billion, mainly operating in sectors such as retail, utilities, and manufacturing.
“The results of the first COMPETITIV edition show that sustainability has moved beyond isolated actions and is emerging as a clear development direction for companies. This confirms that sustainability is taking a more important place on the economic agenda of Romanian businesses, with a direct impact on competitiveness and investment decisions,” said Sorin Suciu, Executive Director for Regional Corporates and Public Sector at Raiffeisen Bank Romania.
Following the assessment and planning phases, sustainability diagnostics were carried out for 52 companies, while 28 companies developed concrete action plans through the program.
The initiatives mainly focus on operational efficiency, resource use, and process digitalization, aligned with the pillars of the new economic model: environment, circular economy, and digitalization.
Based on these results, the COMPETITIV program will continue with a new edition scheduled for September 15, 2026, to February 4, 2027. Participation is subject to selection, and applications are open until July 31, 2026, at competitiv.eu/particip/.
The program is conducted within the New Economy Hub, an independent initiative created to support companies in decision-making during a changing economic environment and to turn existing initiatives into coherent business strategies with measurable impact.
