RetuRO, the administrator of the Deposit-Return System, announces the launch of the tender for the selection of transport providers that will ensure the logistics flow of packaging within the DRS.

The tender will be conducted transparently on the Transporeon platform. It aims to select transport partners to ensure a fast and sustainable logistics flow, actively contributing to the development of an efficient deposit-return system.

The selection process will be carried out on behalf of RetuRO by Geodis Transport Romania S.A., the logistics service provider for RetuRO.

“RetuRO reaffirms its commitment to optimize every step of the Deposit-Return System, in view of the targets set for 2025. The ongoing development of the DRS requires the implementation of immediate and practical solutions to support a flexible and scalable logistics ecosystem. Building sustainable partnerships with transport operators is an important step in this direction. Participating in this tender also opens up new opportunities for those who want to actively contribute to the development of an international benchmark system, says Gemma Webb, CEO & President of RetuRO DRS.

The tender will be held from February 25 to March 17, 2025, the deadline for submitting offers, following the steps available on RetuRO’s website at https://returosgr.ro/selectie-oferte-transport.

After registration, operators that meet the eligibility criteria will receive an invitation from the Geodis team to register and submit their offers on the Transporeon platform, which facilitates collaboration between shippers, carriers and producers, ensuring efficient supply chain management.

“In order to streamline RetuRO’s operations, the implementation of efficient solutions in the management of the packaging logistics flow is a priority. Collaboration with reliable transportation partners is fundamental to optimizing the collection and processing of DRS packaging, increasing the efficiency of the whole system. We are confident that through this transparent and fast tendering process, managed by our logistics service partners Geodis, through the Transporeon platform, we will attract transportation providers that have the capacity to meet the specific requirements of an ever-growing Deposit-Return System”, says Ovidiu Sîngeorzan, Chief Operations Officer RetuRO DRS.
