Allianz-Țiriac and the International British School of Bucharest launch a multi-year performance-based scholarship programme that will support students with outstanding academic achievements

    Published on

Allianz-Țiriac Asigurări and the International British School of Bucharest (IBSB) launch the IBSB & Allianz-Țiriac Senior Scholarship Programme, offering students with outstanding academic performance, from across Romania, the opportunity to pursue high-quality international education in an environment that supports academic excellence and personal development. The total value of the programme exceeds 250,000 euro.

Starting with the 2026-2027 academic year, Allianz-Țiriac Asigurări and the International British School of Bucharest (IBSB) will offer three annual scholarships worth 15,000 euro each, covering approximately 70% of tuition fees and essential educational resources. In addition, selected scholarship recipients will be exempt from admission and enrolment fees, amounting to nearly 2,000 euro. The programme can offer long-term support to students who maintain exceptional academic performance, with scholarships potentially maintained throughout their entire educational journey at IBSB, up to high school graduation.

The IBSB & Allianz-Țiriac Senior Scholarship Programme is open to students applying for the first time to enter the 7-10 and 12 grades at the International British School of Bucharest. The selection process is based on a comprehensive evaluation, taking into account academic results, achievements in sports or creative arts, leadership initiatives and community involvement.

“Education is one of the most powerful mechanisms through which a society builds long-term resilience. Through this scholarship programme, we aim to support students with outstanding academic results by offering them not only access to high-quality international education, but also stability, continuity and confidence throughout their educational journey. We believe that excellence deserves to be supported, and that investing in education in fact means investing in future adults who are responsible, informed decision-makers and active contributors to their communities. This partnership reflects our long-term commitment to education, social responsibility and to shaping a generation prepared for the challenges of a continuously changing world”, says Virgil Șoncutean, CEO of Allianz-Țiriac Asigurări.

In addition to scholarships, selected students will also benefit from mentorship, educational workshops and internship opportunities within Allianz-Țiriac, contributing to the development of their professional skills, critical thinking and social responsibility.

“The IBSB & Allianz-Țiriac Scholarship Programme is more than financial support, it is a long-term commitment to excellence and social responsibility. This partnership brings together education and the business sector with a shared purpose: to identify and support talent, to reward performance and perseverance, and to nurture the next generation of leaders with the skills, confidence and global perspective required for success”, adds Aura Bogdan, Executive Director of IBSB.

IBSB offers scholarship students access to a rigorous British curriculum, delivered by experienced teachers and supported by educational resources that encourage critical thinking, creativity and personal development. In partnership with Allianz-Țiriac, the curriculum will be further expanded in the coming years to include financial education and education on protection through insurance.

Integrated into a competitive yet balanced educational environment, students are encouraged to develop leadership skills, a global perspective and a high level of engagement in academic, sports, artistic and volunteering activities. This comprehensive approach prepares them for admission to prestigious universities worldwide, such as the London School of Economics, the University of Cambridge, Yale University or the University of Oxford.

Students wishing to join the International British School of Bucharest starting with the 2026-2027 academic year can apply for a scholarship between 9 and 28 February, via the programme’s dedicated webpage, where full details regarding eligibility criteria and the application process are available.
