AS METAL COM contributes voluntary carbon credits to Sustainability in Business Forum & Awards 2026

    Published on

Sustainability is increasingly defined not only by commitments, but also by the ability of companies and organizations to turn those commitments into concrete, measurable action.

Ahead of Sustainability in Business Forum & Awards 2026, taking place on October 13 and organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest, AS METAL COM SRL, at the initiative of its CEO, Constantin Apostol, will contribute 20 voluntary carbon credits to support the event’s sustainability efforts.

The credits originate from the company’s Gold Standard-certified project, “Aluminum Recycling – A Solution for CO₂ Emission Reduction” (GS10878). They will be retired on behalf of The Diplomat-Bucharest, the event organizer, supporting the voluntary offsetting of 20 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e).

This initiative brings together two increasingly important pillars of the sustainability agenda: decarbonization and the circular economy.

Aluminum recycling demonstrates how circular economy practices can help reduce environmental impacts while keeping valuable materials in use. The 20 voluntary carbon credits are intended to compensate for a portion of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with organizing the event. This contribution is not intended to represent the event as fully carbon neutral, but rather to demonstrate a practical step towards addressing its climate impact through voluntary carbon offsetting.

For Sustainability in Business Forum & Awards, this contribution represents another step towards embedding sustainability principles into the event itself. Alongside its role as a platform for dialogue, the exchange of best practices and the recognition of sustainability achievements in the Romanian business community, the event also seeks to reflect the principles it promotes.

The 20 carbon credits are intended to compensate for a portion of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with organizing the event. This contribution is not intended to represent the event as fully carbon neutral, but rather to demonstrate a practical step towards reducing and addressing its environmental impact.

Sustainability in Business Forum & Awards 2026 will take place on October 13, bringing together companies, business leaders and sustainability professionals to explore how sustainability strategies are evolving beyond commitments and reporting towards implementation, accountability and measurable business impact.
