“For several years we have started to supply our entire network with energy from renewable sources. We have installed special cooling equipment in the data centers in order to reduce our energy consumption. We have installed photovoltaic panels on many Vodafone locations so that we can even become small energy producers and reduce our energy consumption,” Roxana Pintea, Head of Public Affairs, ESG and Communications, Vodafone Romania said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability-Today.
“By implementing this mix of measures, we managed to save the energy equivalent of 60 schools in one year.
We have been supporting the communities we are part of for over 25 years. More than 4.5 million people were the beneficiaries of the 1,233 projects carried out by the Vodafone Foundation.
Through the “School of the Future” project, we are trying to develop digital skills for over 10,000 children between the ages of 6 and 12 from urban and rural areas. 50 schools are included in this project.”
