FEPRA marks an important milestone for the municipality of Brad and for Romania’s recycling infrastructure with the inauguration of its new PET and glass recycling units. The new facilities represent a strategic investment for the economic development of the Brad–Hunedoara region, an area heavily affected in recent decades by industrial restructuring and workforce migration.
“We wanted the new industrial park in Brad to be more than just recycling infrastructure — to become a model of development based on the circular economy, capable of creating local value chains that generate real, positive impact in communities. The choice of this area is not accidental: it has an industrial tradition, but also a history marked by significant economic and social challenges. Through the two PET and glass recycling plants and the future textile line, we aim to demonstrate that the circular economy can create jobs, bring stability, and generate added value,” said Ionuț Georgescu, CEO and founder of FEPRA.
The FEPRA Circular Economy Industrial Park in Brad includes:
- a PET recycling plant with a production capacity of up to 3,000 tons/month, equipped with state-of-the-art European technologies for producing PET flakes at the highest standards;
- a glass packaging recycling plant with a capacity of up to 2,300 tons/month, equipped with high-performance systems that ensure the production of top-quality cullet.
The two facilities will generate 56 new jobs in the Brad–Hunedoara area (48 in the PET plant and 8 in the glass plant), contributing to the economic revitalization of a region in need of stable, long-term investment.
In addition to these investments, FEPRA is preparing the development of a dedicated textile recycling line within the circular economy system, which will be integrated into the same industrial park.
