Adina Tudor, Coca-Cola HBC: “We aim to invest 250 million Euro in emission reduction initiatives by 2025”

“Coca-Cola HBC Romania has its own sustainable business ecosystem. We are a company that aims for partnerships. Sustainability is not an individual or isolated work, but a teamwork.

Starting from this idea, we started to develop partnerships with various categories of stakeholders starting from our own employees. Because sustainability in any industry starts from within the company, it starts from its own people. Sustainability is already included in the organizational culture. You cannot become a sustainable business if the people who work in your team do not do their business in a sustainable way. Everyone should have this mindset that they are doing good things, that they are doing things as for their own business. This is our mentality at Coca-Cola HBC Romania,” Adina Tudor, Customer Sustainability Partnerships Manager, Coca-Cola HBC Romania said during Sustainability Forum 2022 organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

“Each of us is responsible for finding ways to improve, to streamline resources, to participate as a team in all the sustainability actions that the company carries out and to carry out this behavior that we have from a business perspective in the personal environment, to transfer it. the home.

We started the journey to a sustainable business more than 15 years ago. The destination of this trip is the commitment we made in October 2021 to reduce carbon emissions to zero net across the entire value chain by 2040. So, we are not only paying attention to our own operations, but also to everything our suppliers and all partners do in the value chain.

We believe it is our responsibility to have this overview and to understand the importance we place on partnerships with suppliers, 89% of the emissions we generate are emissions from third party actions in our supply chain processes.

Therefore, we have made it a priority to strengthen and expand partnerships with suppliers.

It is an ambitious goal to reach zero net on the entire value chain in 2040 and thus we have established several directions of action in this regard. By 2025, at the group level, we aim to invest 250 million Euro in emission reduction initiatives. Another direction is to accelerate the approach to a circular approach to our packaging by increasing the use of recycled PET, by adopting options without packaging or reusable packaging solutions.

At the same time, we aim to reduce emissions in direct operations by switching to 100% electricity from renewable sources and low-emission sources.

In addition, together with our partners we carry out public awareness campaigns regarding the separate collection of waste and the correct principles of collection.”
