TenarisSilcotub, Romania’s leading producer of small-diameter seamless steel pipes and related services for the energy, automotive, oil and gas industries, as well as other industrial applications, continues its long-term commitment to technical education by awarding scholarships to 30 students from two of Romania’s prestigious universities through the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program. This year, the program celebrates its 21st anniversary, marking more than two decades of consistent support for students pursuing careers in science and engineering.
In this year’s edition, the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program awards scholarships to 20 students from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and 10 students from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest.
“The Roberto Rocca Scholarships recognize excellence and provide tangible support that students can use as a springboard to turn their ideas and projects into reality. By continuing this long-standing program, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting generations of young people studying at technical universities. As Roberto Rocca once said, education is the primary source of personal development and the driving force that transforms communities. We remain committed to investing in those who have the vision to bring positive change to industry and society,” said Mihaela Popescu, President of Tenaris for Eastern Europe, the North Sea and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Recipients of the Roberto Rocca Scholarships are selected based on their academic performance in the previous academic year, as well as the skills they demonstrate during assessment center evaluations—competencies that are essential throughout a professional career. Once selected, students can also explore other opportunities offered by TenarisSilcotub, including internship programs and the Global Trainee Program, designed for those looking to take their first steps in their professional careers.
Over its 21 years, the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships to 790 students, while continuing to build strong, long-term connections between students, universities and industry.
