ECOTIC and ECOTIC BAT announce the launch of a new edition of the national program “The Ecoterrians’ School”, an initiative that brings together primary and secondary schools from across Romania in a joint effort to protect the environment.

This year’s edition will take place between September 11, 2025 – April 30, 2026 and aims to inspire students to become environmental heroes through simple yet impactful actions, such as the separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), used light bulbs, and used batteries.

The program combines theory with hands-on environmental activities: students and teachers gain access to an interactive platform where they can explore video lessons, complete assignments, and take part in creative challenges, while actively engaging in the collection of WEEE and used batteries. In this way, schools become a place where responsibility towards nature is learned through concrete action.

Enrollments for the 2025–2026 edition are open between September 11 – September 30, 2025, via the SE Platform (https://scoalaecoterrienilor.ecotic.ro/), where one of the teachers can create an account for their school.

In the previous edition, a digital platform was introduced to centralize information, activities, and school progress in the program, making access easier for both teachers and students. The feedback received from educators proved extremely valuable, and the 8th edition now comes with key improvements tailored to their proposals and needs.

Who can enroll?
As in past editions, the program is open exclusively to primary and secondary schools. High schools (grades IX–XII) and kindergartens are not eligible to participate.

Participating schools will enjoy an interactive and transparent edition and will receive a kit of materials, including mini collection containers for students and dedicated school kits for WEEE, used bulbs and tubes, and used batteries and accumulators.

Awards and Recognition:

• Top 10 Schools – Schools with the highest accumulated points will receive Altex gift cards, depending on their ranking (prizes between 500 – 2,500 lei).
• Most Dedicated Coordinating Teacher – Altex gift card worth 1,500 lei.
• Top 5 Students – Five prizes of 500 lei each.
• Collection Awards (for schools):
  • Schools that collect significant quantities of WEEE will be awarded Altex gift cards worth between 200 – 700 lei.
  • Schools that collect significant quantities of batteries will be awarded Altex gift cards worth between 200 – 500 lei.
