Electroalfa International has invested more than 500,000 euros over the past two years to develop a modern training center for its employees, as part of a broader initiative — Alfa Academy — dedicated to professional development in technical fields. The investment includes the construction of a 100-seat amphitheater and training spaces that replicate real production workshops.
In addition to this investment, the company has allocated more than 100,000 euros in extra funding for dual education programs carried out in partnership with technological high schools and universities in the region, as well as for internship programs in its factories. So far, more than 250 students have benefited from these programs through internships, scholarships, or hands-on training.
These investments come at a worrying time for Romania’s labor market, which faces a severe shortage of skilled technical workers. According to data from Eurostat, only 18.7% of young people were employed in 2023, compared to the European average of 35.2%, while youth unemployment exceeded 20% in Romania last year. The situation is even more difficult in rural areas and small towns, where limited employment opportunities significantly restrict young people’s integration into the workforce.
“Alfa Academy is our way of investing in people — in their potential, their professional journey, and the future of Romanian industry. We’ve created a space that gives young people and our employees access to practical training, essential trades, and an environment that encourages continuous learning. We believe technical education is not just about qualifications — it’s about confidence, stability, and a real opportunity to build a career. Through educational partnerships and internal programs, we aim to be a concrete support for those who want to grow, adapt, and contribute to a stronger, more competitive industry,” said Ștefan Petrea, CEO of Electroalfa International.
