Leroy Merlin, the home improvement retailer specializing in construction, decoration, and gardening, invested more than 1.3 million euros in social responsibility projects in 2025. The funds were allocated to both nationwide initiatives with broad impact and local community projects, all aligned with the company’s CSR strategy and its three main pillars: environment, health, and education.

The company’s 2025 report shows a total CSR budget of 1.374 million euros dedicated to local and national projects. Among the flagship initiatives financed last year was a partnership with Bookland to build a dual-education campus in the rural commune of Vulturești, Argeș County, near Leroy Merlin’s Pitești store, with an investment of RON 2.1 million.

In 2025, Leroy Merlin also supported several projects developed by the ZI DE BINE Association, including the CREAATiV / RE.CREATIV program, through which the first detoxification center for minors was established within the Voila Psychiatric Hospital in Câmpina. The initiative also included addiction training programs for more than 500 professionals and over 100 teenagers and young people in recovery. The company additionally backed the KIT (Keep In Touch) project, a mental health education and substance abuse prevention program involving more than 2,300 students.

Furthermore, Leroy Merlin partnered with Medici pentru România through an investment of RON 900,000, contributing to the modernization of the pediatric ward at the Municipal Hospital of Curtea de Argeș. Another project carried out in collaboration with Destiny Park, valued at more than RON 500,000, included the installation of an earthquake simulator, experienced by approximately 17,000 children and their families during its first seven months.

The company also supported the Grivița 53 Theatre project with an investment of RON 500,000, contributing to the construction of the theater, which officially opened in autumn 2025.

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Leroy Merlin took part in the renovation of an educational center and the construction of eight social housing units. The initiative included the involvement of 91 Leroy Merlin Romania volunteers, totaling 734 volunteer hours, as well as sponsorship funding amounting to RON 900,000.

“For us, responsibility toward the community is integrated into our global business strategy and is part of the way we develop over the long term. We pay close attention to the real needs of people and continuously invest in projects that create lasting value. In 2025, we continued to support impactful initiatives at both local and national levels, and we will remain committed to contributing to the development of more sustainable communities,” said Mathieu Bauduin, CEO of Leroy Merlin Romania.

At local level, the company carried out 45 community actions in 2025, compared with 34 in 2024, with the highest number of initiatives taking place in Timișoara, followed by Iași and Sibiu. Examples include the creation of a children’s workspace in Brașov, the rehabilitation of a kitchen in Iași, and the clean-up of the Via Transilvanica trail in Craiova.
