MedLife continues its nationwide Health Caravan initiative, originally launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to support communities with limited access to essential healthcare services. This summer, the MedLife’s Timișoara team is carrying the project forward through the Summer Medical Caravan, taking place throughout July and August in the counties of Timiș and Caraș-Severin.
This year’s edition focuses on gynecological screening. Women in western Romania can benefit, based on the physician’s recommendation, from gynecological consultations, ultrasound examinations, and Pap smear testing. Test results and personalized medical recommendations will subsequently be communicated through their family physicians. The prevention component is complemented by educational sessions on HPV vaccination and guidance on breast cancer screening.
In addition to gynecological services, the caravan provides preventive screening across several medical specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, vascular surgery, and general medicine. In partnership with the Timiș County Public Health Directorate, the program also includes epidemiology services, such as VDRL testing and awareness activities highlighting the importance of vaccination.
“Through this initiative, we aim to bring healthcare closer to local communities. Every consultation carried out during the caravan has the potential to detect a condition early, giving patients a better chance of receiving effective treatment,” said Adrian Bădescu, CEO and Founder of MedLife Medici’s.
During July, the MedLife Health Caravan visited the communities of Mașloc and Gottlob in Timiș County, where multidisciplinary teams from MedLife Medici’s provided free specialist consultations and medical evaluations. Across the two stops, approximately 200 people received medical examinations and personalized recommendations.
In August, the caravan continues its journey through Caraș-Severin and Timiș counties, with scheduled visits to Bozovici, Costeiu, Jebel, Moldova Veche, Pojejena, and Coronini. In each location, MedLife’s multidisciplinary teams will continue delivering preventive healthcare services and specialist assessments, supporting the early detection of medical conditions and guiding patients toward appropriate treatment pathways.

To date, the MedLife Health Caravan has traveled more than 7,000 kilometers and supported over 4,000 people through outreach programs targeting vulnerable rural communities, Romanians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, patients living with chronic diseases, and refugees from Ukraine.
