“The business environment is skeptical about the national circular economy strategy. We have seen many strategies over time and very few of them have been implemented. We were happy to see, in addition to consultations, that there is a transversal approach. It is important that the circular economy becomes a way of doing things in Romania. It should represent a general framework for any measure to be implemented,” Adelina Dabu, Head of Public Affairs, Concordia said during Circular Economy Conference organized by Sustainability Today.

“There must be a coherence of public policies. Some measures are constraining, but measures can also be taken to encourage positive behaviors in the area of circular economy development.

We cannot discuss the development of the circular economy in Romania without digitization and the development of green skills.

We propose the establishment of laboratories for the development of skills in the area of the circular economy, including green skills, at the regional level, as partnerships between the academic environment and the private environment.”

Concordia brings together 15 industries essential for the Romanian economy, representing than 2,200 companies with 330,000 employees and a total contribution of 26 percent to Romania’s GDP.

Concordia is the only Romanian organization part of Business Europe, Business at OECD (BIAC), and the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and a legitimate partner in all public debates at government and parliamentary level, as well as in the decision-making structures in the territory.
