GreenGroup, a European leader in the circular economy, through the company GreenTech (the PET plastic recycling business line), implements sustainable solutions for the transport of recycled materials.
In partnership with Scania and Trans Tomicris, GreenTech introduces 7 trucks with reduced fuel consumption into its transport fleet, reducing CO2 emissions and optimizing logistics efficiency. Through this partnership, GreenTech takes an important step towards more sustainable transport, strengthening GreenGroup’s strategy to implement ecological solutions in the development of a circular economy.
The new trucks are used to transport PET plastic packaging waste and recycled raw materials between GreenTech’s factories in Romania, Slovakia and Lithuania. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and streamline cross-border logistics.
“Transport plays a crucial role in the circular economy. It is not enough to recycle efficiently; we must also ensure that the logistics of this process support sustainability goals. Through this partnership, we are moving even closer to a logistics model with reduced environmental impact, while also helping customers achieve their environmental goals,” said Alina Genes, CEO of GreenTech.
The trucks are equipped with modern technologies that allow continuous monitoring of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, ensuring full transparency regarding their environmental impact.
“This partnership underlines our commitment to sustainability and efficiency in transport. The new Scania trucks not only optimize fuel consumption, but also provide a competitive advantage for our customers, helping them reduce their environmental impact without compromising operational performance.” says Petar Donchev, Head of Sales Director at Scania Black Sea Unit.
Since the start of using these trucks, the results have been extremely promising. Compared to older truck models, the new vehicles have demonstrated a reduction of up to 912 kg of CO2 emissions and a decrease in fuel consumption of approximately 3.33 L/100km. These improvements directly contribute to reducing GreenTech’s carbon footprint, implicitly increasing the group’s operational efficiency.
“We have been collaborating with GreenTech for over 20 years and are happy to continue supporting their efforts. In addition, we only have Scania trucks in our fleet, chosen for their remarkable performance in reducing CO2 emissions and optimizing fuel consumption. These trucks allow us to offer efficient and environmentally friendly logistics solutions, thus contributing to a sustainable transport chain and in line with our common environmental protection objectives,” said George Stuparu, Transport Manager at Trans Tomicris.
