In 2025, Lidl Romania facilitated the export of products sourced from Romanian suppliers to 25 European markets, strengthening the presence of Romanian goods in mature and highly competitive markets across all regions of Europe. The total export value reached 78 million euros, up from 63 million euros in 2024, marking a significant increase of nearly 24 percent.
Among the top exported categories were fresh meat and meat products, soft drinks, and fresh fruit, followed by staple grocery items and non-food household products.
“We are building more than a business that sources locally whenever possible — we are also creating export flows to countries such as Germany, France, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Poland whenever we identify superior international quality standards and production capacity capable of supplying both us and other European markets.
Our 2025 results demonstrate stronger partnerships with local suppliers and the efficiency of the workflow developed over years of close collaboration,” said Georgiana Radu, Chief Merchandising Officer and Member of the Management Board of Lidl Romania.
The most exported products from Romanian suppliers in 2025 were in the fresh meat and processed meat category, generating the highest shipment volumes. These were followed by snacks, which performed strongly on foreign markets. At the same time, fresh fruit made a substantial contribution to the total export value, enhancing the visibility of Romanian agricultural production across Europe. Soft drinks also complemented the diversified export portfolio.
Currently, Lidl works with more than 500 local producers to ensure a wide product range and high shelf quality, building long-term partnerships that go beyond national borders.
